Milk Supply Assessment
A milk supply assessment gives you clarity when you are lying awake wondering, "Am I making enough?" or "Why am I so engorged all the time?" Instead of guessing, we carefully look at both sides of the equation-your body's milk production and your baby's milk intake.
As an RN and IBCLC, I review your pregnancy and birth history, medications, pumping habits, and health conditions that can affect supply. We observe a feeding or pumping session, talk through diaper and weight patterns, and, when available, may incorporate weighted feeds or recent growth data from your baby's clinician.
You leave with a straightforward explanation of what is likely happening (true low supply, oversupply, normal variation, or transfer issues) and a realistic plan. That plan might include specific pumping strategies, breastfeeding adjustments, supplement amounts if needed, and warning signs that would prompt medical follow-up. The benefit is peace of mind: you are no longer guessing-you have a clear path forward.
