Weaning Support Session

A weaning support session honors that ending or changing a feeding relationship is as significant as beginning one. Whether you are ready to stop breastfeeding or pumping, need to wean for medical or emotional reasons, or simply want to cut back, we create a plan that is gentle for both your body and your baby.

We talk through your goals, timeline, and any constraints such as return-to-work dates, medications, or a new pregnancy. I outline stepwise changes to reduce feeds or pumping sessions while lowering your risk of engorgement, clogged ducts, or mastitis.

We also address the emotional side-grief, relief, or a mix of both-and ways to preserve closeness with your child through snuggles, routines, and rituals that are not centered on feeding. You leave with a clear written roadmap, including comfort measures, red flags to watch for, and ideas for talking about these changes with older toddlers. Weaning does not have to feel abrupt or lonely.
